Monte do Pintor
Monte do Pintor produces elegant, estate-grown Alentejo wines in Évora, crafted by the master winemaking minds behind Portugal's legendary Pêra-Manca.
The producer
Established in 1991 near Évora, Monte do Pintor (owned by Sociedade Agrícola da Sossega) was founded to express the exceptional terroir of the gentle hills of Alentejo.
The estate's credibility and acclaim are rooted in its winemaking leadership: seminal consulting winemaker João Portugal Ramos, along with head winemaker Pedro Baptista, are the very talents behind iconic Portuguese benchmarks like Pêra-Manca, Cartuxa, and EA from Fundação Eugénio de Almeida.
Spanning roughly 30 hectares of carefully selected vines on schist and clay soils, Monte do Pintor balances traditional regional grapes like Trincadeira and Aragonez with international varietals like Syrah.
The winemaking team applies the same rigorous standards, patience, and attention to detail that made Pêra-Manca a world-renowned brand, crafting complex, structured wines that age gracefully while reflecting the warmth and soul of southern Portugal.
